ALANIS to guest star on NIP/TUCK


Seven-Time Grammy's Award-Winning Artist Will Appear in Three Episodes of FX's Critically Praised Drama Series

LOS ANGELES, September 26, 2006 Alanis Morissette is set to guest star on FX's Golden Globe winning drama series nip/tuck for three episodes this season. Morissette will portray "Poppy," the love interest of anesthesiologist "Dr. Liz Cruz," played by series star Roma Maffia. The first of Morissette's three nip/tuck appearances will air on October 31, 2006 at 10 PM ET/PT.

Since emerging in 1995, Morissette has become one of the premiere singer/songwriters in contemporary music. Her international debut album Jagged Little Pill became one of the most successful albums of all time. Her deeply expressive music and performances have earned vast critical praise, seven Grammy Awards and total album sales exceeding 40 million. Nominated for two Golden Globe Awards for Best Original Song -- Motion Picture, Morissette has contributed to the soundtracks for Dogma, City of Angels and most recently The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. As an actress, she has appeared in the Kevin Smith films Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and the Cole Porter biopic De-Lovely. Her television appearances include roles on Sex and The City, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Lovespring International and American Dreams.

Set in Miami, nip/tuck follows the lives of "Dr. Sean McNamara" (Dylan Walsh) and "Dr. Christian Troy" (Julian McMahon), two plastic surgeons and business partners who run McNamara/Troy, a South Beach plastic surgery practice. The season four premiere (September 5, 2006) of nip/tuck delivered 3.4 million Adults 18-49, a 3.89 HH rating and over 4.8 million total viewers. This is the largest 18-49 audience of any season premiere of an original basic cable series in 2006.

nip/tuck was created and is executive produced by Ryan Murphy. Michael M. Robin serves as executive producer. Produced by The Shephard-Robin Company in association with Warner Bros. Television Production Inc., season four production is now underway in Hollywood, California.
